Academia Colombiana de Historia

Digitization of journals and publications of the Academia Colombiana de Historia

Summary

Neogranadina is working with the Academia Colombiana de Historia, Colombia’s oldest historical society and publisher of historical research, to digitilize the majority of its print publications. We have prioritised over 870 issues of its journal, the Boletín de Historia y Antigüedades, published since 1902. In addition to academic articles, the Boletín has long published large numbers of primary source materials, and has been a key resource for generations of historians. We are also digitizing books that the ACH has published, many of which also contain transcriptions of primary sources, in order to make them more accessible.

Accomplishments

  • Neogranadina installed a digitization station in 2022. For this we developed a new design for the scanner and new software.
  • The team at the ACH has digitized more than 870 issues of the Boletín de Historia y Antigüedades. They are currently in the process of digitizing the other publications of the ACH, especially those that contain transcriptions of primary sources.
  • Neogranadina is in the process of processing and publishing these images and the indices of the Boletín de Historia y Antigüedades on our platform, the ABC.
